The Furmint grapes for this wine came from a vineyard, called Hatalos, outside the village of Szegilong. The largest vineyard of our family estate, Hatalos steeply inclines towards the south-east and represents an outstanding piece of Tokaj terroir with mineral-rich soils that give very high-quality wines. The vineyard was replanted in 1998, its total surface area being 3 hectares. The vines are trained on medium-high cordon, spaced at 1 metre in rows 2 to 4 metres apart.
This wine is always produced using traditional methods to make the most of the high-quality crop. The grapes were hand-harvested into small containers, then the bunches were crushed and destemmed. After gentle pressing, the juice was settled and fermented in steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine was aged sur lie for 4 to 6 months in oak.
